Dog Star Rescue is proud to have a special adoption program for the everyday heroes among us:

Active duty military personnel and honorably discharged* U.S. Armed Forces veterans
*Proof of military service with a U.S. Military ID Card will be required by all military applicants, designating an honorably discharged veteran if you’re not currently active.

First responders including:
- Firefighters
- Emergency medical responders
- Doctors and nurses

About the program
Qualified adopters will receive:
- 50% off your adoption fee for veterans, active military members, and first responders (currently $250)
- 100% of the adoption fee covered for disabled veterans (currently $500 for dogs over four months and under age seven)
- 50% of the cost of one 6-week basic skills obedience training session covered (up to $200) with a pre-approved trainer

Dog Matchmaking for Heroes
Our Dog Star Heroes team works closely with qualified adopters to find the perfect rescue dog based on your lifestyle, home environment, and personality. We cannot guarantee any dog will be suitable as an emotional support animal, but our goal is to help bring healing, joy, and companionship to those who need it most.
